This is the bit where I tell you about myself

Josh Phillips

Hi, I’m Josh. I’m a freelance writer and editor, with interests in food and drink, and theatre. I begun writing ‘critically’ in 2011 in the first year of my undergrad degree, when I realised that I could get free theatre tickets in exchange for writing about said theatre. As someone who likes theatre and having opinions, this was a no-brainer. During my time at Oxford, I wrote regularly for The Cherwell, where I had a column on all things dramatic, as well as the Oxford Theatre Review, which I would later edit. I have also written for the Edinburgh Theatre Review, and The Metropolist.

Other than theatre writing, a great love of mine is food, which I take the opportunity to write about (and eat) whenever I can. My food writing nestles alongside my theatre reviews at The Metropolist, and I have writing published in Time Out London. You can find all this and more on my portfolio.

I am the deputy editor of the Raddington Report, a newly-established magazine devoted to geopolitics and security, economics, and culture. You can read my contributions to the magazine here. I also write for Oyster.com, a hotels review website, as well as doing various other freelance bits and bobs.

My newest project is A Book A Week, where I write about a new book each week, every week for a year.
